Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude and assisting with inquiries, product recommendations, and locating items.
- Replenishing shelves and displays with fresh produce, groceries, and other merchandise to ensure availability and presentation standards are met.
- Monitoring product quality, expiration dates, and stock levels, and rotating items as needed to minimize waste.
- Assisting with checkout operations, including scanning items, processing payments, and bagging groceries.
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the store, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Assisting with receiving deliveries, checking in merchandise, and storing products in designated areas.
- Following health and safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and employees.
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to achieve store goals and targets.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform the duties of the job, including lifting and carrying heavy items.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in using cash registers and other retail equipment.
