Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the performance and availability of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network devices, and environmental controls, to ensure optimal operation and uptime.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to alerts and notifications regarding system failures, performance issues, or security incidents, and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate as necessary.
- Routine Operations: Perform routine data center operations tasks such as equipment checks, backups, system updates, and maintenance activities according to established procedures and schedules.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, diagnose problems, and implement solutions to restore service and minimize downtime, working closely with other technical teams and vendors as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of data center activities, including incident reports, change logs, equipment inventories, and procedural manuals, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information stored within the data center environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the IT team, including system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists, to support ongoing projects and initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Requirements:
- Education: Diploma or degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of data center infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and virtualization technologies. Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and server hardware is desirable.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing data center operations tasks and maintaining documentation.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, vendors, and customers.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide 24/7 coverage and support for data center operations.
