Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented General Cashier to join our team at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Dubai. As a General Cashier, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the hotel’s cash operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established policies and procedures. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the hotel’s assets and maintaining financial integrity through diligent cash handling and reconciliation processes.

Work Experience:

Education & Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree/ High School / Secondary
Key Responsibilities:
- Cash Handling: Manage all cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and disbursements, in accordance with established procedures and controls.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash transactions with bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies for investigation and resolution.
- Petty Cash Management: Maintain petty cash funds, process reimbursements, and monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cash flow statements, variance analysis, and other relevant documents, to support decision-making and financial planning.
- Internal Controls: Implement and enforce internal control measures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Auditing and Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and addressing audit findings as needed.
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to staff members on cash handling procedures, internal controls, and compliance standards to promote a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering positive relationships to enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with financial software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
