Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers with a warm and welcoming attitude as they enter the restaurant, providing assistance and answering any questions they may have.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including ringing up items, applying for discounts or promotions, and handling payments.
- Handle cash transactions securely, counting cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift and reconciling discrepancies as needed.
- Process credit/debit card payments and electronic transactions using card readers or other payment terminals, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Provide information to customers about menu items, specials, and promotions, making recommendations based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Assist with packaging and bagging food orders for takeout or delivery, ensuring that orders are complete and presented neatly to customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier station, including cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, and removing trash regularly.
- Collaborate with other front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operations and excellent service throughout the restaurant.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, customer service, and food safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with management and team members to address any issues or concerns and ensure a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service roles is preferred but not required.
- Strong numerical skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
