Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Qatar. The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department in managing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. This role requires strong analytical skills, a good understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting or finance and a passion for numbers.

Work Experience:
1-2 years of experience in the relevant field
Education & Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree/ High School / Secondary
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Process and record invoices, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with internal controls. Manage payment schedules and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Accounts Receivable: Assist in generating invoices, tracking outstanding receivables, and following up on overdue accounts. Maintain accurate records of customer transactions.
- General Ledger: Support general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to support management decision-making.
- Expense Management: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring alignment between company records and bank statements.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
- Tax Compliance: Support tax-related activities, including VAT filings and other tax-related documentation.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other finance team members and departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
