Job Description:

Jerry Tan Eye Surgery is currently seeking qualified Staff Nurses to join our team in Singapore. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing eye surgeries and treatments at our clinic. Education & Qualification:

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients’ health status and medical history, and collaborate with ophthalmologists to develop individualized care plans for pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Prepare patients for eye surgeries and procedures, including administering medications, inserting intravenous lines, and providing emotional support and reassurance.
  • Assist ophthalmologists during surgeries and treatments, ensuring proper positioning of patients, sterile draping, and instrumentation as required.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs, pain levels, and response to treatment, and provide timely interventions and nursing care as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about eye conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  • Perform nursing procedures, such as wound care, dressing changes, and eye drop administration, in accordance with established protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including ophthalmologists, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals, to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety protocols, and continuous professional development activities to enhance nursing practice and patient care delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment, including operating rooms, recovery areas, and patient rooms, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Valid nursing license or registration from a recognized regulatory body in Singapore or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Prior experience in ophthalmology, surgical nursing, or critical care nursing preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound nursing judgments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to delivering high-quality and culturally sensitive nursing services.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
